JAMIE Heaton’s parents delivered a heartfelt tribute to their “unique and amazing boy” as they visited the scene of the explosion.
Michelle and Ken Heaton sobbed as they looked at flowers, soft toys and cards — some from people they didn’t know.
The toddler had been watching television when the explosion happened.
Detective chief inspector Pete Marsh, who passed on the police’s condolences, read a statement on behalf of the family.
It read: “Our little man Jamie was a happy little boy, mischievous and full of laughter. He was in his element in the outdoors and loved his freedom — going to the park and playing on the slide. He adored his brother and sister, Jack and Jodie.
“Even though we only had a short time with Jamie, the time we had was special and his memory will live on through everyone close to him.
“We are overwhelmed by the support we have had,” they added.
