Terror-probe woman blames her husband

AN Oldham hairdresser accused of a string of terror offences has denied any wrongdoing.
Shasta Khan (38) said alleged reconnaissance trips to Jewish neighbourhoods to scout potential targets for a bomb were at the urging of her husband Sajid.
She also said internet searches for terror–related explosives, chemicals and extremist propaganda were also the work of Sajid (33), from Bradford, who has already admitted terror offences.
Three-times married Khan (38) on trial at Manchester Crown Court, denies any involvement in her husband’s terror activities.
Police found a cache of allegedly terror–related material after being called to a domestic dispute at the couple’s home in Oldham last July. Various items and chemicals were seized. and her car’s cat-nav unit showed multiple trips to Jewish areas ofManchester — looking for targets to attack, the prosecution claims.
Simon Drew QC, defending, asked Khan to explain why she had been driving her husband around Jewish neighbourhoods.
She said she believed he was looking at houses “because he’s nosy,” but added that it “didn’t seem right” that her husband asked her to perform several U–turns and drive down the same roads.
Khan said her husband would use her log-in details to gain access to her Facebook and eBay accounts where a search was made for “shotgun cartridges”.
Khan denies engaging in preparation for acts of terrorism and three counts of possessing information useful to terrorists.
Proceeding.
