A TOAST . . . to the college’s success
AROUND 500 well-wishers raised a glass to Oldham Sixth Form College at its 20th anniversary bash.
Students and staff past and present attended the celebration evening to toast the college’s achievements and catch up with old friends.
They were treated to a dance showcase while talented art and design students staged their end of year show.
Principal Jayne Clarke said: “It is fantastic to see people coming together to celebrate.
“We have a really good mix of staff and students, former staff and students, students who have become staff, and governors and partners who have worked with the college.
“It is important we take time to reflect on our successes and I think everyone is really proud.”
The college was once dubbed “a complete waste of money” which would struggle to attract students.
But critics were proved wrong from the start and two decades later it is up there as one of the country’s best.
