THE family of murdered Junaid Khan have called on police to step up the search for his killers on the third anniversary of his death.

Junaid was shot in a car park in Block Lane, Chadderton, on July 9, 2009. Now Mumtaz Khan, Junaid’s father, has written to Oldfham West and Royton MP Michael Meacher for help.

Mr Khan runs a business in Werneth.

He said: “I feel the police have stopped investigating Junaid’s murder and we are living in constant fear somebody else will get hurt.

Mr Meacher MP said he has written to Oldham police chief Tim Forber to ask for regular updates.

He added: “I have met with Mr Khan and I understand his frustration but there is a standard of evidence required to bring offenders to court.”

Three Oldham men charged with Junaid Khan’s death, were found innocent at an eight-week trial last year.
