Vandals target stadium again
Date published: 13 July 2012
OLDHAM Rugby League Club’s Whitebank Stadium, a regular target for vandals, has been hit again.
Emergency services were at the ground after it was reported that trees were ablaze and children were in the vicinity.
No-one is believed to have been hurt.
Club chairman Chris Hamilton, said: “Trees inside the ground had been set on fire and a stretch of picket fencing, between the scoreboard and the bottom end of the ground, had been vandalised.”
Only three weeks ago vandals broke into the match-day office and started a fire which caused extensive damage.
The club is asking anyone has information about the latest incident, which happened on Sunday evening, to call 0161-628 3677.
