Saddleworth Rangers Girls enjoy dream day out at the iconic Wembley Stadium

The Saddleworth Rangers girls' rugby team
The Saddleworth Rangers Girls rugby team enjoyed a once in a lifetime experience when they took to the pitch at Wembley Stadium as mascots for Wigan in the Women’s Challenge Cup Final.
Proudly wearing their brand new inaugural kit, generously sponsored by Amari Plastics Manchester, the girls represented their club on one of the sport’s biggest stages.
The sponsorship was made possible thanks to the support of Nicola Robinson, General Manager at Amari Plastics, whose backing has been pivotal in the team’s development.
On Sunday, August 10, ahead of the Oldham versus Barrow fixture at Boundary Park, several members of the girls’ team met with Nicola to express their gratitude in person.
In a touching gesture, they presented her with a replica kit as a token of thanks (see below).

The Saddleworth Rangers Girls section was first established in 2020, but progress was halted by the Covid 19 pandemic.
The club relaunched the team last year and is now focused on expanding opportunities for young female players.
The squad is preparing to take part in development fixtures, with the goal of entering a competitive league next season.
Training sessions are held at Churchill playing fields on Wednesdays from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and Saturdays from 9.30am to 10.45am.
Details for new players and enquiries are available on the Saddleworth Rangers social media channels.
