VEHICLES and properties were targeted by BB pellets during a two-hour rampage by a lone drive-by gunman.
The shots were fired between 11pm on Monday and 1am yesterday along Rochdale Road and Middleton Road, Royton.
Police received reports of at least two cars with windows broken. A house was also hit.
Officers were told the shooter was in a silver Vauxhall Corsa.
Gary Peters, owner of the hair salon, was called by a nieghbour to say his shop had been hit.
He said: “There has been anti-social behaviour for a while round here. I have been robbed three times in the last three years.”
Facebook’s “I Love Royton” page has messages claiming thousands of pounds of damage has been caused.
Jackie Keightley said: “There could have been someone inside seriously injured. I hope they find this moron and lock them up for a long time.”
Anyone with any information is urged to call Sgt Trevor Harrison, of Royton police, on 0161-856 4521, or Crimestopppers, anonymously, on 0800-555 111.
