Speed trap hot-spots

Today we can reveal Oldham’s top five roads for speed camera offences.
New figures show that between 2006-2010, 8,120 people were caught out at the speed trap on the A62 Manchester Road north of Drury Lane, and 5,450 at Featherstall Road, near Westhulme Street.
Further down Oldham Road, near Queen Street, 2,061 drivers were stung — while only one motorist faced a fine on Ripponden Road, north of Turf Pit Lane.
Data on all 151 fixed speed cameras in Greater Manchester has been collated by the Greater Manchester Casualty Reduction Partnership.
In 2010, 45,398 drivers were caught speeding by cameras across the county. Over 19,000 of them were fined, while 22,115 completed a speed awareness course and 4,091 attended court.
The top five hotspots in Oldham are:
1. A62 Manchester Road, North of Drury Lane, (30mph)
2. A6048 Featherstall Road, near Westhulme Street (30mph)
3. A62 Oldham Road, near Queen Street, Failsworth (30mph)
4. B6195 Middleton Road, near Stottfield, (30mph)
5. A663 Broadway, near Eustace Street, (40mph)
