TV gardener is festival guest

TV gardener Joe Swift swapped Tatton for town centre on Saturday when he visited Oldham Flower Festival.

The BBC “Gardener’s World” presenter, who won a prestigious gold at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, put in a star appearance at the festival after being a presenter at last week’s RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park.

Now in its third year, the Oldham event offers entertainment to gardeners of all standards with flower arranging and other sessions. Oldham Council’s environmental officers were also there to talk to residents.
