Reeling in support for gas-blast family
Date published: 24 July 2012
A RELATIVE of tragic Jamie Heaton will attempt to reel in funds for the tot’s parents this weekend.
Darren Webb, a cousin of Jamie’s dad, Kenny, will host a charity fishing match at Alexandra Park on Sunday.
Darren, of Abbeyhills Lane, said: “No money in the world will bring Jamie back but I want to do something to help, however small.”
Almost 50 fishermen will be taking to the water at the park and at Chaddy Mill. The new cafe at Alexandra Park will also be open, and will take donations.
Each competitor has paid £20 to enter, a quarter of which will be given back as prizes. The rest will go to the Heaton family.
