A LOCAL inventor has gone ker-azy for his favourite childhood games — and has created one of the biggest-ever versions of Ker Plunk for an upcoming exhibition.
Gary Allen, a technician at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester, has also designed and built a giant Connect 4.
The childhood favourites will be unveiled at the Liverpool Road, Manchester, museum next weekend.
Gary, from Failsworth, worked with colleague Tony Stamp to make the 6ft 6in Ker Plunk set, using recycled materials, including an old display case for a rocket. The pair made the discs for Connect 4 — also 6ft 6in tall — from recycled polystyrene.
The life-sized games will join exhibits from other designers who have created among others, a giant Etch-a-Sketch, a large-scale Crazy Golf and a giant game of Operation at the free museum event on Saturday and Sunday
