PEOPLE in Greater Manchester are the most anxious in the region — and have one of the lowest “life-satisfaction” ratings in the country.
More than four in 10 said they felt “anxious or completely anxious” the previous day, according to the first annual results of David Cameron’s so-called happiness index.
The results placed Greater Manchester 22nd out of 156 areas (on a scale showing most anxious at the top.
Respondents were asked simple questions and the average score across Greater Manchester gave a life satisfaction rating of 7.26 out of 10 — making it the one of the lowest in the country at 138th. A breakdown of those surveyed shows 27.16 per cent of respondents were very dissatisfied or dissatisfied with their life.
Eilean Siar, Orkney & Shetland topped the poll, while Middlesbrough was the most anxious area.
