OLDHAM will be going for gardening Gold on Monday when judges of a national competition visit the borough.
Preparations are hotting up for the visit by judges for the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Britain in Bloom UK Finals 2012, the UK’s biggest gardening and environmental campaign.
Oldham is among 72 finalists, picked from more than a thousand cities, towns, villages and urban communities, and is competing in the City category against Westminster, Aberdeen, Northampton and Norwich.
The winner will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony in Guernsey on October 6.
Oldham Town Centre’s floral displays were recently inspected by North-West in Bloom judges, with that result being announced on October 25.
