Rugby club scores with a £43,900 grant
Date published: 30 July 2012
WATERHEAD Rugby Club has hit the jackpot with a lottery grant to create a new changing room.
The club has scooped £43,900 from Sport England’s Inspired Facilities Fund for London 2012’s legacy programme, to build an additional changing room and shower area, including a toilet for disabled users.
It will allow the club to use the main and training pitches at the same time, and won’t have to hire other facilities.
Club chairman Peter Beswick said: “We are delighted to have secured this investment. It is the cornerstone of our strategy to provide growth and stability.”
There will be another chance for Oldham groups to get vital funding with a further £10 million now up for grabs in the next round of bids. Full details can be found at www.sportengland.org/inspired.
