CLOSE inspection: judge Roger Burnett takes a look at the town-centre Bloom and Grow display
OLDHAM’S flora and fauna came under close scrutiny as the Britain in Bloom judges assessed the town’s horticultural offerings.
This is the first time Oldham has entered the prestigious contest with the borough beating off stiff competition from Chester and Preston as the North-West representative.
Before they visited the various Bloom and Grow displays, judges Roger Burnett and Sharon Thomas met the Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Olwen Chadderton, and key council staff who have helped to create the town’s entry pieces.
Final results will be announced in October.
