SHOPPING central . . . Mike Flanagan shows where the new British Home Stores will be, replacing the empty former JJB outlet
OLDHAM was given a huge boost this morning when British Home Stores agreed to move into town.
The retail giant signed a 15-year lease at Spindles after announcing it will open a store in the sprawling space left by JJB Sports.
The store should open for business before Chrstmas.
Mike Flanagan, Spindles Town Square Centre manager, said: “This is great news for the centre and for the town as a whole.
“It is good to see a company as big as BHS having the confidence in the centre. They will be a catalyst for other businesses.”
Mike has confirmed that another five empty stores are also under negotiation — including the old TJ Hughes site.
