Oldham MP Debbie Abrahams has hit out at the Conservatives’ “broken promises” to improve healthcare in GP surgeries.
Ms Abrahams, MP for Oldham East and Saddleworth and Private Parliamentary Secretary to Shadow Health Secretary Andy Burnham, says GP surgeries across the country continue to reduce opening hours, putting extra pressure on accident and emergency units.
She said: “David Cameron pledged that GP surgeries would be open until 8pm, seven days a week. In Oldham we already have two fewer extended-hours surgeries since 2010-11.”
