Parents’ tribute to Alex

THE parents of Alex Williams, who died this week at the age of 18, have paid tribute to their “inspirational” son.
The lifelong Latics fan died on Wednesday after suffering two strokes since the wekend.
Parents Alison and Wayne, from Ashton, said Alex, who overcame the effects of childhood meningitisl to win respect for his positive attitude and determination “touched the lives of many”.
They said: “We are both completely devastated at losing our wonderful son, Alex. He was a fantastic older brother to Abbie and true friend to everyone who met him.
“Alex was energetic, caring, fun-loving, positive and inspirational. His motto was “believe and achieve” and he really did.”
“We have been overwhelmed with the support and wishes we have received from people over the last 48 hours.
