The Civic Centre welcomed visitors from nations including Spain, Greece, Malta and Germany as part of a series of events across Europe.
The have been organised by the European Regional Development Fund to demonstrate ideas that delegates can implement in their own countries. The programme featured speakers from Oldham Council and the green technology centre at Oldham College.
Council leader Jim McMahon said: “It’s essential that local authorities assist in supporting small and medium enterprises — they are not only key in stimulating the economy, they are also often the lifeblood of a community.
“I hope that enterprise, local and central government and communities work together in finding solutions to the problems facing the global economy.”
