POLICE have made a renewed appeal for a suspected armed robber who went on the run from Manchester Airport.
Anthony Morrison (33) is sought over a raid on Shaw’s Asda store in October 2011. Morrison fled Ringway after flying in from Amsterdam on July 6 for an meeting with police.
Officers were waiting in the immigration area at terminal one but Morrison ran off from the adjoining terminal three. He brushed aside staff who challenged him and kicked open a fire door into the baggage reclaim area of terminal three, then walked through the arrivals hall to a taxi.
A review of Morrison’s escape has been launched to ask why officers didn’t arrest him as he stepped off the plane.
Detectives say he has a history of violence and should not be approached.
Anyone with information is asked to call Oldham CID on 0161-856 8951.
