Safety concern over baby items

SAFETY issue: a baby’s dummy clip
OLDHAM Council trading standards officers are warning residents about safety issues over home-made baby’s dummy accessories and feeding bottles.
Officers have found several people using social media sites to sell items online. But devices such as “dummy clips” — commonly made from ribbon and beads, designed to attach a baby’s soother to clothing - are potentially dangerous. They may not have passed safety tests - the beads could cause choking, for example. The sellers aren’t always aware of the standards to be met.
Councillor Steven Bashforth said: “While we’ve not received any reports of children in the borough being injured by one of these products, we believe they could potentially be harmful.”
