The Buckley Belles hand over a cheque for £4,000 to Natalie’s family
NATALIE’ Murphy’s last wish will come true: her daughter can look forward to the trip of a lifetime.
The 27-year-old dancer had booked to take her daughter Chanel to Disneyland in America.
But when she was diagnosed with cervical cancer she was unable to fulfil the promise and couldn’t get a refund for most of the holiday cash she had paid out.
When, earlier this year, doctors gave her only months to live, members of Buckley Belles, the Pennine Cascades and the Sholver community, raised money for a dream trip to Disneyland Paris.
The Belles raised £4,000.
Darryl Jackson, who helps run the Buckley Belles, said: “Natalie loved to dance and was a member of Pennine Cascades for many years.
“We will all continue to guide and care for Chanel, as her mum would have wanted. Natalie will always be greatly loved and respected and missed by all the Buckley Belles.”
Natalie’s friend Louise Makin shaved her head during an event organised by Pennine Cascades dance group and the Sholver Community.
The benefit day including an auction and music at the North Gate pub in Sholver and raised £5,000.
A member of Natalie’s family will now be taking Chanel on the dream trip.
