Date published: 17 August 2012
FIVE bids have been submitted to run Manchester’s local television channel.
Communications regulator Ofcom has made 21 local TV licences available throughout the UK as part of government plans, including Manchester which is set to cover Oldham.
Almost 60 applications have been made to run the 21 channels; some organisations have made bids for several areas.
In Manchester the contenders are: Made in Manchester, MCR TV, Manchester News Central, Metro8 Manchester and YourTV Manchester. A decision will be made in the autumn.
