REUNITED: Dickie the chihuahua back home with Shanelle
A RUNAWAY chihuahua has been found safe and well.
The pedigree Crufts winner, which goes by the name Dejacqueray Dick Dastardly, was discovered by its owner in Shaw — over three miles from home in Abbeyhills.
Denise Hurst received a phone call from a man who had agreed to buy the tiny pooch - named Dickie for short - five days after it went missing.
She said: “We had an anonymous caller last Wednesday evening saying Dickie been spotted in the Shaw area, so we posted around 200 leaflets and put posters up appealing for the public’s help.
The she got a call from a man who said he thought he had Dickie after acquiring him in a pub deal.
The show dog went walkabout after escaping through a gate nine days ago. Tricia’s step-daughter, seven-year-old Shanelle Wilson, was made up to have him back in her arms.
Denise added: “Shanelle was over the moon to get Dickie back at home. We would like to thank everyone who helped to find him.”
