College pass record in its anniversary year

OLDHAM Sixth-Form College has recorded its best-ever exam results in its 20th year.
College principal Jayne Clarke is “over the moon” at a 98 per cent pass rate.
She said: “We are all really delighted. This is the 20th year the college has been open and our 20th set of results, so it’s great to get another fantastic set.”
A dream has become a reality for many of the college’s students — which includes the outstanding trio of Jessica Moon, Katie Toolan and Jack Schofield.
A delighted Jack (18), from Chadderton, will study English language and linguistics at Lancaster University after gaining two A* and one A grade in English language, English literature and history.
In bagging four A grades and one A at AS level, Jessica (18), from Rochdale, beamed: “I am a bit shocked, but very, very happy. I will be going to do chemistry at Edinburgh University.”
Manchester University has gained a law student in Rochdale’s Katie Toolan (17), after she collected three A* grades.
“It is the hardest thing I ever done, but it was definitely worth it,” she said
