HULME Grammar School has celebrated a 100 per cent A-level pass rate — with 12 per cent of students gaining at least one A* grade.
Two of the high-flyers were Bart Edge and Louise Bintliff, both thrilled to receive their impressive results.
Bart (18), from Greenfield, will study engineering at Durham University after gaining 3A* in maths, chemistry and general studies — as well as 2 As in physics and further maths.
He said: “I’m really pleased. My parents are really proud of me.”
Louise (18), of Ashton, will study economics at the University of Warwick, with the aim of one day setting up her own business.
She achieved 2A* in psychology and economics and 3As in English literature, maths and general studies.
“There was no pressure on me because I’d already had my present, to see the women’s hockey at the Olympics,” she joked.
Also celebrating great results was Sam O’Hare, who achieved 4As in chemistry, physics, Spanish and general studies. He will study economics and Spanish at Leeds.
Principal Dr Paul Neeson said: “Such fine results can only be achieved through the diligence and commitment of the students and their teachers. They deserve many congratulations.”
