ABSENT Friends are back with their latest fundraiser — and they hope you will enjoy the show.
The Royton group is holding its sixth event to raise cash for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice — a 12-hour music marathon.
And the poster created to advertise the bash borrows the Beatles’ “Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” album cover, with the faces of late friends superimposed over those of the famous.
Organiser Paul Chadwick said: “We are punching way above our weight for a family day with the names involved. All the bands are giving their services free and we’re throwing an after-show party for the first time too.”
Three hundred people attended last year but this year Paul is hoping for even more.
The day stars at noon on Sunday, with the after-show party from midnight until 3am. A ticket for both events is £7.
