THE British Heart Foundation has contributed to the purchase of 15 automatic external defibrillators for the Oldham area.
The AEDs will be placed in health centres across the borough and are lightweight, automatic, battery operated and portable. They can be used by anyone who has received training.
The equipment analyses the patient’s heart activity and tells the first aider exactly what to do and when, and when required can deliver an electric shock to restore heart rhythm.
The units will be in Chadderton South Health Centre, Chadderton Town Health Centre, Crompton Health Centre, Delph Mini Clinic, Ellen House, Failsworth Primary Care Resource Centre, Glodwick Primary Care Centre, Integrated Care Centre, Moorside Medical Centre, Southlink Block 4, Uppermill Health Centre and Werneth Primary Care Centre.
