DOG-ATTACK victim Susan Whitehill and her partner Peter Lord
A TERRIFIED woman is recovering after being savaged by a dog near her home in Glodwick.
Susan Whitehill (48) was walking home alone in Worsley Street on Saturday when she was attacked by what is believed to be a bull terrier.
Susan’s partner Peter Lord, who is also her carer, says the animal sank its teeth into Susan’s thigh and wouldn’t let go. It only released her when the owner dragged it off.
Left screaming in pain from a a deep gash, Susan was rushed to hospital where she is still making daily visits for treatment. The dog is still at large as police continue their search.
Peter (50) said, “We’ve both been left totally traumatised by what happened, it was horrendous.”
“Susan is still in pain and was terrified. Doctors wanted to keep her in hospital.
“The worrying thing is this dog is still on the lose, it could maul a child.
“You hear of these attacks more and more and something needs to be done to get control of the situation. It’s disgusting.”
Peter says there were witnesses who believe they know the dog’s owner.
