Date published: 23 August 2012
GCSE RESULTS: BLUE Coat school’s overall points total has risen again.
Head teacher Julie Hollis said: “We are absolutely delighted with all our young people’s achievements, and particularly with their exceptional results in maths and the sciences, and engineering, and outstanding results in Modern Languages, which is a national focus.”
James Fairbrother, from Bardsley, is considering a career in law after scooping a fantastic 11A* and a distinction in ICT.
The 16 year old took most of his exams early, finishing before many friends had even started studying for them. His distinction came after he completed ICT in Year 9 making him the top scorer overall.
He said: “I’m ecstatic. I was hoping for good results but I was really nervous. It’s a huge relief.”
Top scoring girl was Olivia Green, from Stalybridge, who got 10A* and one A.
