GCSE glee as records tumble

DOUBLE joy . . . twins Connor and Liam Dean
GCSE RESULTS: PUPILS at Saddleworth School gained record results this year - with 49 per cent gaining at least three A* or A grades.
Among the top achievers were Lois Johnston, from Uppermill, and Rachel Goodwin, from Grotton.
Head Girl Lois gained six A*s and five As with a distinction for BTEC PE and a distinction in ICT.
Her friend Rachel gained six A*s, four As, two distinction stars and one distinction.
It was double joy for two sets of twins, Connor and Liam Dean, from Shaw, and Luke and Adam Ellis, of Herbert Street, Oldham.
Liam - six minutes older tham his non-identical twin - was thrilled with his four Cs, one B, one D and one E, while his brother Connor got 5 Bs, one C and one distinction star in business studies BTEC
Luke and Adam got 21.5 A*to C passes between them.
