Academy declines to publish results
Date published: 24 August 2012
WATERHEAD Academy has declined to publish a list of pupils’ GCSE results.
It is the borough’s only secondary to do so.
Nigel McQuoid said: “Our policy is to release the overall results achieved by Year 11 students at Waterhead Academy, rather than their individual results.
“We have 319 students in Year 11. Forty-six per cent of these achieved at least five A*-C grades (including English and maths), 11per cent achieved the English Baccalaureate, 46 per cent achieved eight or more A* -C grades and 92per cent achieved at least five A*-G grades (including English and maths).
“Across the year group there are examples of students who have achieved outstanding results.”
Any parent of a Waterhead Academy pupil who wants to celebrate their child’s results should e-mail them to karendoherty@oldham-chronicle.co.uk and we will publish them free of charge.
