GCSE results: NORTH Chadderton School celebrated some of its best ever results yesterday — despite the school having been a building site for most of the year!
Seventy per cent of pupils at the Chadderton Hall Road school took five passes including English and maths, while 90 per cent of pupils earned five A*-C grades in all subjects.
Head, Joy Clark, said: “The entire school community should be congratulated on achieving these fantastic results while operating in temporary accommodation on a building site!”
Top-scoring girl, Louise Harris took five A*s, five As and two Bs — and admits to cleaning up after her parents promised financial rewards for passes. Louise will be studying maths, further maths, French and physics at Oldham Sixth Form
Pupil Daniel Stanley also nabbed top grades with six A*s, seven As, a B and a BTEC distinction to his name.
One of his A* grades was for GCSE maths — which he sat more than a year before his classmates.
The hard-worker, who plays the saxophone, swims and plays cricket in his spare time, is also planning to attend Oldham College in September.
