TWO Oldham schools have sung their way into the record books.
Guinness has confirmed that the world record for singing a song simultaneously has been broken.
Among the 114,277 pupils and teachers from across Great Britain who took part in the “sign2sing” were 726 from Oldham.
The pupils, from Hodge Clough Infant School on Wilkes Street in Moorside and New Bridge School on Roman Road in Hollinwood, raised £313.10 for national deaf charity SignHealth.
Steve Powell, chief executive at SignHealth, the healthcare charity for deaf people, said: “We are delighted to have broken the world record for the second year running and we are going to try and beat it again next year.”
