GCSE RESULTS: STUDENTS pushed themselves to the limit to gain positive grades — and all their hard work paid off, according to Waterhead Academy.
A total of 46 per cent of GCSE students gained at least five A* to C grades including English and maths.
But across the board, teachers were delighted with those who had achieved outstanding results
The school’s top achievers were Charlie Jones, from Springhead, who gained four A*s, five As and seven Bs; Cora Kirk, from Moorside, who got eight A*s, five As and two Bs; and Shamreen Khan, of Glodwick, with one A*, eight As, six Bs and one C.
Nigel McQuoid, principal of Waterhead Academy, said: “This has been an important year for us, as we continue to develop our vision of what learning at Waterhead Academy should be about.”
