WE did it! Crompton House pupils celebrate
GCSE RESULTS: IT was high-fives all round at Crompton House.
The Shaw school is celebrating after the number of pupils getting at least five A* to C grades topped 90 per cent for the fourth year in a row.
The figure this year is 92 per cent, while the number of pupils achieving five top grades including English and maths was 79.5 per cent.
Top achievers included Michael Aspen who got 10.5 A*s, an A in OCR National IT (the highest grade possible) and an A in additional mathematics - a free-standing maths qualification which prepares pupils for A-levels.
He was among those who received the equivalent of half an A-level after taking a GCSE short course in Buddhism in Year 9.
Another four students achieved 10 A* grades and 29 scooped a minimum of 11 A* and A grades.
Head teacher Sarah Calvert said: “We are delighted that our students have once again achieved some outstanding results.”
