Musicians take note

LOCAL musicians are being urged to take part in the largest closing cultural event of London 2012.
Oldham’s 2012 Bandstand Marathon is on Oldham High Street on September 9, when more than 500 live music events will be taking place across the UK.
Several acts have already signed up to take part in Oldham, including the Oldham Scottish Pipe Band, CC DeVine & Hazard and Muso Choir.
Councillor Shoab Akhtar said: “Oldham’s Bandstand Marathon is a fantastic opportunity for local musicians to showcase their talent to their local community. I would urge musicians to sign up and take part.”
