Police plea over shooting
Date published: 30 August 2012
Police today appealed for help in tracing the person who shot and injured suspected armed robber Anthony Morrison.
The 33-year-old, wanted for questioning over an armed robbery at Asda in Shaw last October, was yesterday formally arrested but will remain in hospital under police guard.
He was admitted to North Manchester General Hospital on Sunday with a gunshot wound to the chest following a domestic dispute in Middleton.
Det-Insp Terry Crompton, of the Major Incident Team, said: “Clearly someone will know where this gun was fired and why, and so I would appeal to them to come forward and speak to us, in confidence if needed.”
Anybody with information about the shooting is asked to call the Major Incident Team on 0161-856 4711, 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555 111.
