‘Shop the killers’ plea to public

£50,000 reward offer for killers’ arrest
POLICE today renewed their plea for public help in catching men responsible for a gun and grenade attack that killed a man in Clayton.
They pledged that whoever provides information leading to a successful prosecution will be kept safe — and receive a £50,000 reward.
The two leading suspects have been named by police as Dale Cregan (29), from Droylsden. and Anthony Wilkinson (33), from Beswick.
Both are wanted in connection with two grenade attacks on Friday, August 10, when 46-year-old David Short was killed.
A getaway car was later dumped in Failsworth, prompting an immediate bomb-squad search of the area and a later raid on an Oldham laundry.
A spokesman for GMP said: “The biggest priority for Greater Manchester Police is to find these two men.”
Assistant Chief Constable Garry Shewan said: “I understand that people may be fearful of reprisals and worried about their safety.
“We are not asking people to come into a police station or give evidence to collect this £50,000.
“We only want information about where Cregan and Wilkinson are hiding so we can arrest them. Someone knows where they are and we are urging these people to do the right thing and call us.”
Call the Major Incident Team on (0161) 856 3301 or 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
