Jail for man who attacked women
Date published: 31 August 2012
A SPRINGHEAD man has been jailed for six months after he stamped on the head and face of two young women during a vicious attack.
Manchester Magistrates’ Court heard how painter Paul Dsouza (26) knocked out one of the women in the frenzied assault — then switched his attention to her friend who was dragged to the floor by her hair before suffering a similar fate.
Magistrates were shown photographs of the women’s bruised and battered faces.
Dsouza, of Carr House Road, Springhead, was convicted of assaulting the women after a trial on February 12.
He was told: “These are very serious offences indeed. You rendered one of the women unconscious and then carried on hitting the other”.
One of the women lived in Quebec Buildings in Salford and after hearing noise ourside at 4am challenged the agitated Dsouza about his behaviour. He attacked them.
Dsouza accepted he had been involved in a “very unpleasant” incident but claimed the women had attacked him first.
