Anthony Morrison: under police guard in hospital
A MAN has been arrested following the shooting of suspected armed robber, Anthony Morrison.
Morrison (33), was shot in the chest and dumped outside North Manchester General Hospital, where he is now under police guard after being formally arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Shaw in October/
His condition in hospital is serious but stable.
A 24-year-old man from Middleton was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody for questioning.
Detectives from the Major Incident Team continue to investigate the shooting.
Det Insp Terry Crompton said: “The fact we have made an arrest does not mean the investigation stops here.
“We are confident we will be able to establish the full circumstances of what happened.”
Before he turned up at the hospital, Morrison was being hunted by police over a robbery at Asda in Shaw last October.
