Pair battle for new role

VOTERS go to the polls in November to elect Greater Manchester’s first Police and Crime Commissioner.
The PCC will replace the Greater Manchester Police Authority and all households in the region can vote.
The Conservative candidate for the upcoming Manchester Police and Crime Commissioner role has been announced as Michael Winstanley.
Michael served as a councillor for eleven-years until 2011, working on the Makerfield, Bolton North East and Wigan constituencies. He was Mayor of Wigan in 2010.
He will face election in November
Former Member of Parliament Tony Lloyd will lead the Labour race to become Police and Crime Commissioner.
He spent the last 29 years as MP for Manchester Central, and before that a councillor in Stretford and Trafford
