NUMBER cruncher Roy Taylor (67) is heading to London for the clash of the Sudoku giants.
It is the third time in four years the grandad-of-10 from Beck Grove, Shaw, has made the finals of the Times Sudoku Championships.
One hundred puzzlers will do battle for the grand title and a £1,000 prize.
The challenge involves completing eight puzzles in the quickest time, with the top 10 entrants going forward to the grand final. The ultimate winner gets the chance to compete in the world championships.
The former electrical engineer said: “The puzzles range from easy to very hard so they can take five minutes or up to 30.
He competes at The Times offices in Thomas More Square near Tower Bridge, on Saturday, September 15.
