Shaw blast man questioned
Date published: 03 September 2012
THE man who suffered 30 per cent burns in the Shaw blast has been interviewed under caution in connection with the death of toddler Jamie Heaton.
The two-year-old died after an explosion in Buckley Street on the morning of Tuesday, June 26.
Andrew Partington — a joiner originally from Rochdale — had been in an induced coma at Wythenshawe Hospital since the incident. He remains in hospital and it is not known when he will be discharged.
Assistant chief constable Steve Heywood said: “This man has been spoken to. Any speculation is unhelpful to the investigation.”
A 32-year-old gas fitter from Shaw arrested on suspicion of manslaughter remains on police bail pending further inquiries.
