£80,000 to help people sleeping rough
Date published: 04 September 2012
MORE than £80,000 will be ploughed into Oldham to help prevent homelessness.
Housing Minister Grant Shapps said help for those facing “the real and frightening prospect” will carry on until the end of the current Parliament.
Councils across the country will receive a share of £160 million, with Oldham being handed £81,905 between 2013 and 2015.
A dedicated phone line and website will allow people to report those sleeping rough, so they can be linked to available services.
