SUSPECTED armed robber Anthony Morrison is in police custody after being released from hospital treatment for gunshot wounds to his chest.
A 24-year-old Middleton man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed by police.
Morrison (33) was shot in the chest and dumped outside North Manchester General Hospital 10 days ago, where he was kept under police guard until he was well enough to leave.
He was also formally arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a Shaw supermarket in October.
Morrison is now recovering in police custody with what officers say are “significant injuries” from a chest wound.
Police were called to the hospital on Sunday, August 26, at about 9.30pm, after Morrison was driven to the hospital in what is believed to be a dark-coloured BMW.
Ambulance staff helped him out of the car before it drove off towards the Crumpsall area.
The shooting is under investigation by detectives from the Major Incident Team. Anyone with information can call the police major incident team on 0161-856 4711, the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111.
