Grenade attack: man charged

A MAN has been charged with murder over a grenade and gun attack that killed David Short in Clayton on August 10.
Anthony Wilkinson (33), from Beswick, has been charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and was due to appear at Manchester City Magistrates’ Court today.
Jermaine Anton Ward (24) was previously charged with murder and attempted murder and is due at Manchester Crown Court on November 9.
Three other men arrested on suspicion of murder have been bailed until October pending further inquiries. Police are continuing their appeal to trace Dale Cregan who is also wanted over the murder. Anyone with information can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
