Jail warning to hoax 999 caller

A 999 NUISANCE caller who claimed to hold vital information to murders and serious crimes across the country could face jail.
June Chadwick was abusive to emergency operators several times after becoming angry that police weren’t dealing with her concerns, Oldham Magistrate heard.
In one clip played to the court Chadwick (52), of Falkirk Street, Oldham, said she was going to kill the operator.
She admitted making 11 calls between August and October last year, which District Judge David Scanlon called a “waste” of police time and resources.
Mark Angus, prosecuting, said some police officers knew about Chadwick’s continuing calls and visited her address to warn her about her behaviour.
After pleading guilty to a charge of persistently making nuisance calls, District Judge Scanlon said she was a “piece of paper” away from a custodial sentence.
She will return for sentencing on September 26.
