...but more works start
OLDHAM’S King Street is to reopen to traffic following extensive Metrolink works.
King Street is expected to open permanently open from Monday, with access from Union Street.
Some work will continue to the south-west of the King Street/Union Street junction, but without diversions.
Philip Purdy, Transport for Greater Manchester’s Metrolink director, said: “We really appreciate the patience and understanding of local people.”
THERE will be disruption along Oldham’s bypass this weekend for road resurfacing.
Surfaces are to be replaced at the junction of Oldham Way, Lees Road and Huddersfield Road as part of the road restructuring to bring trams through Oldham town centre. Traffic control will be in operation until Sunday, with arrangements changing frequently as the work progresses.
Vehicles will not be able to access the Mumps Metrolink stop; taxis and the Metroshuttle service will stop at Prince Street.
Over the next week, the exit from Manchester Street roundabout into Oldham town centre will also close, for around two weeks.
