New pictures from inside Newman college show the building is almost ready for occupation
PARENTS have been reassured that Newman College WILL open a week today.
The scheduled opening of the £33m building on Broadway, Chadderton, was originally put back after Balfour Beatty failed to meet the initial deadline.
But the site was officially handed over to Oldham Council on Thursday. Final clean-up and testing is now taking place.
Year seven and 11 pupils will return on Monday, September 17, and all others the following day.
Head teacher Mike McGhee added: “The delay in opening our doors was regrettable but it is time to focus on what is going to be a very bright future.
“We know this is going to be a truly inspirational environment.”
